Nearly 300,000 Doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine Arrive in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: More vaccines from Covax facility have arrived in Cambodia on Friday morning. A total of 290,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have been delivered to aid Cambodia’s fight against Covid-19. The Covax facility has pledged to provide around 6.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Cambodia in the first phase. So far, there are already nearly three million doses of vaccine delivered to the kingdom.

Ministry of Health Secretary Youk Sambath says that from next Monday until the end of December 2021, Cambodia will receive more than 600,000 doses of vaccine from the Covax mechanism and 3.2 million doses from the Australian Government.

Cambodia has now more than 40.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from purchases and donations: 7,800,000 doses of Sinopharm, 29,124,800 doses of Sinovac, 2,353,400 doses of AstraZeneca, 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 188,160 doses of Moderna.

As of Thursday, Cambodia has already vaccinated 88.72% of the total 16 million population.
